About the band:

No one has worked harder at keeping the legacy of the blues alive than Blind Mississippi Morris. Clarksdale native Blind Mississippi Morris hails from a distinguished family of Mississippi musicians. He was schooled on the harmonica at an early age by cousins Robert and Mary Diggs of the legendary "Mississippi Sheiks" and of the gospel group "The Harps of Melody". He's also a cousin of writer/performer/producer Willie Dixon, an integral part of Chicago's Chess Records during their heyday. Over the years, Morris has gained his own national and international recognition having been named by Bluzharp magazine as one of the ten best harmonica players in the world.

Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Cummings lost his sight at the age of four, but that didn’t stop him from learning the blues. Morris was also partly raised by the mother of blues legend Howlin’ Wolf, Gertrude Young. Morris has become a popular blues act on Beale Street and music festivals across the country. Morris and his band, the II Deep Blues Band, are known as the "real deal from Beale". Morris is the very embodiment of the Delta bluesman. He has been called a new disciple of the Delta blues. He has performed with legendary artists B.B. King, Rufus Thomas, Muddy Waters, Bill Wyman (formerly with the Rolling Stones), Albert King and many other artists.
