About Larry Springfield:
When Larry Springfield was born, his family lived on world famous Beale street. I guess you could say he was destined to sing. At the age of 18, he found himself back on that famous street. On a Dare, he entered a contest called, “The Stair Ways to the Stars” at the club Royale on Beale. A local talent show that gave young artists the opportunity to display and cultivate their talent. Larry was such natural on stage. The owner recognized his talent and ability to connect with his audience and encouraged him to continue and pursue entertainment and offered him a job to sing as one of his Featured acts at his club.
Under the mentorship of Ruby Wilson, The queen of Beale Street and veterans like Preston Shannon, Chick Rogers and Phineas Newborn, Larry continued to hone his skills and was dared again to audition for a television show. At the age of 20, Larry audition and appeared on the nationally syndicated hit television Show, “Star Search”, hosted by Ed McMahon. Larry went on to win the show that season, and soon after, was offered a recording Deal by Clarence Avant and became a recording artist for his label Tabu A&M and later, signed another Recording Deal with Motown records. As a music industry insider he has work as a music producer and has produced records for himself and such artists as Chanté Moore, Brian McKnight, and Wayne Brady. He has written songs with or for Chanté Moore, Wayne Brady, Debra Cox, Jamie Foxx and a host of other notable artists. He has toured with such artists at Barry White, Chanté Moore. Gerald Levert , Toni Toni Tone. Al Green and Darryl Coley and has head lined shows all over the country. He's head lined and was the feature act at Issac Hayes's Night club in Memphis and Chicago. Notably, Larry was also a feature male vocalist for the BB Kings club chain of restaurants. There he was the music Director for the Memphis, Nashville and Orlando Restaurants. The owner of the company, Realizing and recognizing Larry’s Strong ability to draw and entertain his audiences, Larry was offered the Featured artist title for The BB Kings Blues Club inside of the World famous Mirage casino in Las Vegas Nevada.
While working for BB Kings, he got a close and intimate look into the workings of a entertainment/restaurant” business. He worked, under the tutelage of its owner Tommy Peters, for 15 years moving from city to city as a headline and manager of the music production for the company. After his run for company, he came back to Memphis from Vegas, and approached by Tommy with a proposal. Larry was offered the chance to owner and run his own club, a partnership. An opportunity to do a joint venture with the owner of The B. B.KINGS franchise. This partner would give him autonomy. And with that, one of Larry’s dreams had come to fruition. The vision of “SugaShack” was realized.

A Chic Speak Easy. A place where the mature adult can let their hair down and be free to get lost in themselves, the moment and Music.
