Following every Friday thereafter—throughout the month of March—the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library will play host to talented artists, of which include famed names Joyce Cobb, and come from acclaimed acts such as the Memphis Central High School Band.

The Soul Ingredient is an up-and-coming jazz/jazz fusion band from Memphis, Tennessee, featuring seven talented musicians, most of whom are high school seniors.
After three years of performing and growing together, they've developed a unique sound that blends traditional jazz with modern sounds. All members are active participants in the Memphis Jazz Workshop, and six are members or alumni of the internationally acclaimed Memphis Central High School Jazz Band. Recently, the group stepped into the studio for the first time to record a full-length album of entirely original music, with each track revealing the individual personalities of the band members.
With their creativity and passion for the music, The Soul Ingredient continues to pay homage to the Memphis jazz scene and strives to create a lasting impact through their music.
